An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36" [36 x 91 cm]) (Learn More)

Hal Roach Comedy Carnival, the 1947 Bernard Carr & Harve Foster compilation of two Hal Roach comedy shorts ("The funniest thing that ever happened to you!"; "From beginning to end...you'll laugh from top to bottom!"; "Photographed in GAY, NEW CINECOLOR"; "One long laugh from start to finish") starring Walter Abel, Margot Grahame, Marie Wilson, Donald Meek, Frances Rafferty, Barbara Bates, Sheldon Leonard, Donald MacBride, and Larry Olsen. "Curly" was a B-movie attempt by Hal Roach to start a new series of "Our Gang" type films (because he had sold the rights of that series to MGM). He released it in 1947, and his other release of that year was another B-movie called "Fabulous Joe", and when neither film was all that successful as the lower half of double-bills, he put them together into a single feature film, with the odd title of "Hal Roach Comedy Carnival", even though the two movies had almost nothing in common. The following year, Roach released a sequel to "Curly" with the same cast called "Who Killed Doc Robbin", and he later re-packaged the two movies together as a single feature called "The Adventures of Curly and His Gang", and these two different re-packagings have caused much confusion in the credits of the three movies!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most insert posters were folded twice horizontally right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most insert posters, especially from before 1970!

Condition: very good to fine.
