An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Presskit (measures 9" x 12" [23 x 30 cm]; contains 11 supplements, and 7 stills) (Learn More) William Peter Blatty's The Ninth Configuration (also released as "William Peter Blatty's Twinkle Twinkle 'Killer' Kane"), the 1980 William Peter Blatty experimental psychiatry black comedy ("From the author of 'The Exorcist'..."; "The killer Kane cure...it's unorthodox, unauthorized- but always effective!"; "Somewhere between mystery and terror lies... The Ninth Configuration"; "It will keep you on the edge of your mind."; based on the novel 'Twinkle Twinkle Killer Kane' by William Peter Blatty; "Written, Produced, and Directed by William Peter Blatty") starring Stacy Keach, Scott Wilson, Jason Miller, Ed Flanders, Neville Brand, George Dicenzo, Moses Gunn, Robert Loggia, and Joe Spinell. Note that there were high hopes for this movie, because it was written and directed by William Peter Blatty, who had had massive success with "The Exorcist". But the movie was first briefly released by Warner Bros. in the U.S., and by Lorimar outside the U.S., as "William Peter Blatty's The Ninth Configuration", and it did very poorly, so it was pulled, and quickly issued as "William Peter Blatty's Twinkle Twinkle 'Killer' Kane" by United Film Distributors. It was re-released in 1985 by New World Pictures (which used a two-color version of the original Warner Bros. poster, and restored the original title), and there are different posters for all of these releases, and the ones from the very first Warner Bros. release are incredibly rare! Important Added Info: Note that we have taken a picture of the cover of the presskit and eight of the stills (less than eight if the presskit has less than eight stills, of course). We have noted if the presskit contains any supplements, but we do not picture them. All of the presskits are sealed and ready to be sent, and we cannot answer any questions about the contents, especially about what any stills we may have not pictured show. REMEMBER TO LOOK AT THE TOP OF THIS AUCTION TO SEE HOW MANY STILLS ARE INCLUDED WITH THIS PRESSKIT, BECAUSE WE NEVER PICTURE MORE THAN EIGHT OF THEM (and we pretty much picked eight stills at random). Condition: very good. Many of the presskits we are auctioning this week were carefully stored away for many years, and the stills are in really excellent condition.
