An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Shame in the City, the 1960s sexploitation drug addict movie ("Every vice you ever thought of...and some you never knew existed!"; "The 'Street' Girls!"; "The Strip Joints!"; "The Dope Addicts!" "The 'Art' Models!"; "Released by William Mishkin"). Mishkin was a major distributor of sex-oriented exploitation & burlesque films in New York in the 1950s and 1960s. He was infamous for importing relatively tame European features and dressing them up for U.S. release with suggestive titles, sexy advertising campaigns, and added sex scenes. Note that this movie is not noted on any database, and it is a shame that we can find no details about this movie, because it not only covered the typical strippers, models, and "street girls" of other sexploitation movies of this time, but it also had a section about "dope addicts", and the dope addicts on the poster appear to be beatniks smoking pot! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that the last time we auctioned an example of this poster it sold for $320! Note that in recent months we started auctioning a wonderful collection of sexploitation one-sheets that includes many extremely rare titles from a single collector. This month there are 133 different ones (all are in separate auctions), and they include a number of posters that we have only auctioned once or twice before. There are also a number with great images or taglines. This is an excellent opportunity to add one or more of these rare one-sheets to your collection, and this consignor only had one of each title, so on the rare ones, it may be quite some time before we offer the same title again! Condition: good to very good. The poster was hand-folded vertically off-center and there is approximately 3" of separation with some paper loss at the top crossfold. There is some slight discoloration at the left edge of the lower horizontal fold in the blank border and there are other minor blank border defects. It is otherwise in pretty nice condition and after linenbacking with some proper restoration the poster will look great! Learn More about condition grades
