An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4") (Learn More) Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, the classic 1920 John S. Roberson silent horror thriller ("By Robert Louis Stevenson") starring John Barrymore ("The Screen's Greatest Actor in a Tremendous Story of Man at His Best and Worst"; in the title roles), Martha Mansfield, Brandon Hurst, Charles Lane, and Cecil Clovelly. Note that there were several obscure silent movies based on this classic story starting in 1908. In 1920, Barrymore starred in this version, and there was a different English language version made that same year, and also a German language version, and all three movies had different casts and producers! Also note that Barrymore performed the initial transformation scene into Mr. Hyde without special effects! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: The slide does not have a cardboard holder, but rather there is black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of older glass slides. When we auction slides that have a cardboard holder, we provide a separate image of how the cardboard holder looks, but when we auction slides with the black tape (like this one) we only provide the scan of the glass slide image, because that really is about all there is to see. Condition: good to very good. There is a scratch within the image that runs across the top of Hyde's hat, with tiny loss in the right of the hat. There are a few other minor scuffs in the image. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. While this slide is not perfect, it is really an incredible artifact of this movie (any original items are incredibly scarce), and other than the scratch in the image that is not very noticeable at all, it is in pretty nice condition!
