OSPAAAL (The Organization of Solidarity with the People of Asia, Africa and Latin America) is a Cuban political movement with the stated purpose of promoting the causes of socialism and communism in the Third World, fighting globalization, imperialism, neoliberalism and defending human rights. OSPAAAL was founded in Havana in January 1966, after the Tricontinental Conference, a meeting of leftist delegates from several nations. Many of the posters created by OSPAAAL featured multiple languages so they could be used for international audiences, and they often came in copies of OSPAAAL's Tricontinental magazine. The U.S. embargo of Cuba and the fall of the Soviet Union eventually caused considerable difficulty in poster production, and it wasn't until the 2000s that production was able to increase again. Artist: Rafael Enriquez & Victor Manuel Navarrete Condition: good. The poster has a tiny dot of irregular paper loss at lower center and some slight discoloration along portions of the edges.
