An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Last Command, the 1928 Josef von Sternberg silent Russia historical military adventure melodrama (about a Russian general for the Czar's army who lives in poverty after he has fought on the losing side, and an old enemy hires him to play himself in a movie version of the Russian Revolution!) starring Emil Jannings (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; the award was also for his performance in the 1927 film The Way of All Flesh, and this was the only year that multiple roles were considered), Evelyn Brent, William Powell, Jack Raymond, and Fritz Feld NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline).
