An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Painted Desert, the 1931 Howard Higgin cowboy western (about two men who find an abandoned baby and they spend the rest of their lives arguing over who should have custody) starring William Boyd (billed as "Bill Boyd"), Helen Twelvetrees, William Farnum, J. Farrell MacDonald, and Clark Gable (in his very first real movie; he played a villain!). Note that Gable had appeared in 13 movies between 1923 and 1926, but all in uncredited roles, and he became disillusioned and went to Broadway, where he achieved success. He had one more uncredited role in 1930, but most people consider this his first "real" movie, because he played the lead villain. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
