Date Sold 11/26/2020 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 8 Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Cards (LCs; measure 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Falcon Strikes Back, the 1943 Edward Dmytryk detective crime mystery thriller ("Murder menaces every move... as the Falcon stalks a silent killer who leaves no clues!"; "Luxury hotel shrouded in terror - by a killer so crafty he pins murder on The Falcon, himself!"; "Based upon the character created by Michael Arlen") starring Tom Conway (in the title role as The Falcon), Harriet Hilliard, Jane Randolph, Edgar Kennedy, Cliff Edwards, Rita Corday, Richard Loo, Cliff Clark, Edward Gargan & Olin Howland. Note that this is one of twelve movies that starred Tom Conway as The Falcon. In the first three movies, George Sanders (who had previously played "The Saint" in a series of movies) played The Falcon, but he apparently tired of the role, and wanted to leave, and instead of ending the series, or having a new actor play the role, he passed it on to Tom Conway in the fourth movie, "The Falcon's Brother" (they played brothers in the movie and in real life they were brothers!) in a clever move, the script had George Sanders' character killed, and his brother, played by Tom Conway, shows up and solves his murder, and becomes the "new" Falcon; and Conway went on to make a total of twelve Falcon movies. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good. The card with Conway being held by two men (seen in our second image) has writing in his face that has been partially erased. The card pictured under it has crude pencil drawing on portions of the woman and that too has been partially erased. The card to its left has some similar marks in the title (also partially erased.) HOWEVER, the title card and other scene cards are in "very good" condition. Please bear in mind that the cards in this lot range from "very good" (those cards), to "fair" (for the cards noted above with the marks) and carefully see our super-sized images before placing a bid.
