An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Three-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 41" x 81") (Learn More) Hello, Frisco, Hello, the 1943 H. Bruce Humberstone San Francisco California vaudeville romantic love triangle musical comedy ("The most welcome musical romance of the year!"; "Produced by Milton Sperling 1st Lieutenant, U.S.M.C.R."; set in the turn of the 20th century, about a vaudeville troupe that hits the big time, and when it does, the leader spurns his longtime girlfriend for a rich society woman) starring Alice Faye, John Payne, Jack Oakie, Lynn Bari, Laird Cregar, June Havoc, Ward Bond, and George Barbier NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: This three-sheet was printed in 2 sections. Condition: good to very good. The poster had much paper loss in the part of the right vertical foldline that extends from the right of the top of the "O" in "HELLO" down to the middle of the "C" of "FRISCO" (fortunately, most of the paper loss along this foldline is white background area, although there is some paper loss within the top half of the "C" of "FRISCO"). There was a diagonal tear running from the top right corner of the "H" of "HELLO" across to the bottom of the "C" of "FRISCO", but again, it is fortunate that most of the tear was in the blank white background area. There was a tear running down through the center of the second "L" of "HELLO" and there was paper loss in the middle vertical foldline starting above the "R" of "FRISCO" and running on and off down to the middle of the "H" of "HELLO". There were extra creases, smudges, and some small tears and some tiny paper loss on some other foldlines, but nothing serious, and fortunately, both of the image areas have few defects. If I owned this poster (which may well be one-of-a-kind), I would likely consider having a restorer do additional touch up to the center title area, which I believe could be done without re-backing the poster. I would also consider having the poster re-backed, although I could also imagine many collectors framing this poster just as it is, and accepting the defects that it has.
