An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Alias Boston Blackie, the 1942 Lew Landers Massachusetts criminal-turned-detective mystery crime thriller ("Blackie blasts a mystery that baffles cops AND killers!"; "Suspense... Romance... Adventure... with fiction's most lovable scoundrel!"; "Blackie's driving detectives wacky... By solving a murder they want HIM for!"; about the title character performing a magic show in prison, and one of the convicts escapes, and the police blame Boston Blackie for helping him escape, and he must both catch the criminal and prove his innocence) starring Chester Morris (in the title role as Boston Blackie), Adele Mara, Richard Lane, George E. Stone, Lloyd Corrigan, Walter Sande, Lloyd Bridges, Marjorie Jackson, and Larry Parks (in an early role as the escaped convict). Note that this is the third of fourteen movies made in the 1940s with Chester Morris playing the fictional character "Boston Blackie", a former crook turned detective (there had been ten silent movies made in the 1920s), all of which were based on short stories by Jack Boyle. Also note that Lloyd Bridges was completely unbilled in this movie (it is one of the dozens of uncredited roles he had in the beginning of his career). He plays a bus diver and he is prominently pictured on one of the lobby cards, but no other advertising that we are aware of. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: very good. There are some pinholes around the edges of the poster and a few scattered within the image. There is tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold and tiny separation at the other two crossfolds. There are some creases, small tears, and tiny bits of paper loss in the blank borders. There is a 3" vertical tear in the right of the middle horizontal fold, and someone put a piece of paper tape on the back of that area. Learn More about condition grades
