An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

Singing Cowboy, the 1936 Mack V. Wright singing cowboy western musical starring Gene Autry, Smiley Burnette, Champion (Gene's horse), Lois Wilde, Lon Chaney Jr., Ann Gillis, and Earle Hodgins. Note that Gene Autry was the greatest of the "singing cowboys", and that makes posters from this movie all the more desirable, but sadly, the posters from it are incredibly rare! Also note that Lon Chaney Jr. did not like living in the shadow of his ultra successful father, Lon Chaney Sr., and he did not appear in movies during his father's lifetime. After his father passed away in 1930, Chaney started appearing in movies under his real name of Creighton Chaney, without much success. In 1935, a producer convinced him that it would pay off royally if he would change his name to Lon Chaney Jr., and under that name, he starred in this movie! But that did not lead to much better roles until 1939, when he played Lenny in "Of Mice and Men", and received fantastic reviews. But once again, his career did not take off, until he starred in "The Wolf Man" in 1941, and that led to a very successful series of Universal horror movies!

Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this scene card, and that was 13 years ago (that card was in MUCH lesser condition)! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: good to very good. There are two punch holes in the left blank border. There are some pinholes and smudges around the edges, with three pinholes in the background at upper center. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
