An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Title Lobby Card (measures 11" x 14") (Learn More) The Brasher Doubloon, the 1947 John Brahm romantic detective mystery blackmail crime film noir ("Some women can't stand cats... with me it's men!!"; "Based on the novel 'The High Window' by Raymond Chandler"; as usual in Chandler novels, detective Philip Marlowe is tasked to figure out why a priceless coin was stolen, but his client does not tell him what is going on; he gets involved with many odd people, and must figure out exactly what is going on while trying to finish what he was hired to do) starring George Montgomery (as Philip Marlowe), Nancy Guild, Conrad Janis, Roy Roberts, Fritz Kortner, Florence Bates, Reed Hadley, and Marvin Miller. Note that, because this film hasn't been seen since the early 60s, it has acquired a cult reputation that some people who saw it many years ago think it does not deserve! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: very good to fine. There are smudges around the edges of the card. There was a 1" tear in the middle of the left blank border (blank white paper only) that was repaired with a small piece of clear tape from the back. There are some tiny tears with one very tiny area of paper loss in the bottom blank border and two 1/2" tears in the middle of the right border. The above defects are almost all in the blank borders, and the image area of the card is in pretty nice condition. Other than the tape described above, the card is unrestored, with no other tape anywhere on the front or back of the card. Learn More about condition grades
