Richard was a stage and screen actor who started his own menagerie called Zoo d'Ermenonville in 1956. In 1957, he went on tour with a circus bearing his name, put together with the help of the Gruss family. That circus only lasted two years, but a new Cirque Jean Richard was founded in 1969 and lasted to 1983. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
