An Unfolded French Art Print (measures 11 1/2" x 15 3/4" [29 x 40 cm]) (Learn More) Maitres de l'Affiche (literally translates to "Masters of the Poster"), one of the 1885 - 1900 French art print sets created during the Belle Epoque in Paris, France. The prints were reproduced from the original works of ninety-seven artists, and was put together by Jules Cheret, often known as the Father of Poster Art. The varied selection of prints were sold in packages of four and delivered monthly to subscribers. On sixteen occasions, the monthly package included a bonus of a specially created lithograph. Artist: Auguste Roedel Important Added Info: Note that, as described above, this is an original 1897 French art print! There is a faint embossed seal in the bottom right corner, which helps guarantee it is authentic. Condition: very good. There is darkening and smudges around the edges of the poster, with two tiny tears in the top border and a tiny detached piece in the top left corner, which was re-attached with a tiny piece of tape from the back (see our image).
