Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. Also note that this lobby card has been paperbacked. What is paperbacking? This means the lobby card was backed onto a very light paper backing (acid-free), that keeps the "feel" of the lobby card similar to that of the original lobby card. Some restorers prefer to paperback lobby cards on to a heavy backing, while others prefer to use a very lightweight backing. The advantage of a lightweight backing is that the card still "feels" like a regular lobby card, but a heavier backing makes restoration easier to do and less noticeable. What IS paperbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good. Prior to paperbacking, the card had staining in the bottom 2" of the left half of the card, affecting the title and credits box and the bottom of the stars' clothes. It also had paper loss in the left of the bottom border, mostly in the border area, but slightly extending into the bottom of Lupino's dress. There was a 1" tear in the left of the bottom border, just above the staining. There was slight staining in the rest of the borders and a pinhole in each top corner, and one in the bottom center of the image, with tiny paper loss in the bottom right corner. Other than the exact above defects (primarily the staining described above), the lobby card was in pretty nice condition prior to paperbacking. Someone backed the card onto a thin paper backing, and they only performed light restoration to the above defects, likely because they did not want to paint over those areas. The staining in the lower left described above is slightly noticeable, but not very distracting, unless you specifically look at that area. Please read the above carefully and look at our super-sized image before bidding on this wonderful card. Learn More about condition grades
