An Original 1954 Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Thirty by Forty Movie Poster (30x40; measures 30" x 40" [76 x 102 cm]) (Learn More)

Vi Vil Ha' et Barn (released in the U.S. and Canada in 1954 as "We Want a Child"), the 1949 Lau Lauritzen & Alice Ofredericks Danish child birth melodrama ("You see a baby born before your very eyes."; "No secrets!"; "The supreme moment in every woman's life... The birth of her baby..."; "Not A Documentary! ...but a love story you will never forget"; "Before your very eyes life begins"; "The wondrous story of human birth"; "Featuring... the world's youngest actress... in motion pictures most dramatic scene... that of her actual birth"; "A truly unusual love story"; "Am I to blame... or you?"; "Few pictures begin like this... None end like it!"; about a childless couple who have a single friend who is pregnant, and they agree to adopt her baby, but she refuses to give it up after it is born, but fortunately, the couple then becomes pregnant anyway!; likely a "pro-life" movie, used in the campaign against abortion!) starring Ruth Brejnholm, Jorgen Reenberg, Maria Garland, Grethe Thordahl, and Preben Lerdorff Rye

Important Added Info:

What IS linenbacking? Learn More

Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had paper loss at the top crossfold. It had an extra crease in the left half of the top foldline and some creases, tears, and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There were stains in the background area near the right half of the top foldline. There were pinholes, tears, stains, and tiny paper loss around the edges of the poster. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above (any restorer could touch them up without re-backing the poster).
