An Original Vintage Theatrical Jumbo Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More)

After the Thin Man (released in other English-speaking countries as "Nick, Gentleman Detective"), the 1936 W.S. Van Dyke romantic detective mystery crime comedy sequel ("Continuing the fun in their sequel"; "Continuing the fun in their new hit!"; "Their New joyous hit!"; "Mr. & Mrs. Thin Man are back in their joyous new hit!"; "'Me too' says Astra, the Dog"; "From the story by Dashiell Hammett"; one of the very popular "Thin Man" movies; the very first sequel to the super popular 1934 movie "The Thin Man") starring William Powell (as Nick Charles), Myrna Loy (as Nora Charles), James Stewart (Jimmy Stewart; in his ninth movie role), Elissa Landi, Joseph Calleia, Jessie Ralph, Alan Marshall, Teddy Hart, Sam Levene, Dorothy McNulty, Penny Singleton, and Asta (the dog). Note that original 1936 material from this very first sequel to the 1934 movie "The Thin Man" is almost as rare as that from the first movie!

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this jumbo window card, and one of those examples has now been reconsigned to us, so this is still only one of three examples we have ever auctioned (and one of those three was only in "fair" condition, and the other one was restored and had been in only "good" condition). This one, the best condition of the three, sold for $4,100! Also note that because this poster was paperbacked onto a thicker paper backing, it CAN'T be sent rolled, so we will only send it in a very large flat package.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It has nail holes in the top blank border and a few tiny pinholes in the left blank border. It has paper loss in the "ph" of "Joseph" at bottom center (with two tears above that paper loss, one touching the bottom of Asta's foot), and small paper loss that affects the center of James Stewart's credit, with small tears next to it. Other than the above, the card is in really wonderful condition, with slight darkening around the edges, but just a few faint scuffs in the image, which has really bright colors and an "unused" look. I could certainly understand any collector choosing to display this just as it is, or it would be very simple to restore the small tears and paper loss in the bottom credits area described above. Either way, the new owner will have a wonderful (and super rare) poster to display on their wall!
