Gordon Edwards silent romantic melodrama ("Suggested by Victor Hugo's 'The Hunchback of Notre Dame'") starring Theda Bara (as Esmerelda), Glen White (as Quasimodo), Walter Law, Herbert Heyes, and Carey Lee. Note that the vast majority of people think that the very first film version of Victor Hugo's "The Hunchback of Notre Dame" was the 1923 silent version starring Lon Chaney Sr. But actually, there were two shorts made in 1905 and 1922 (French and English), and this feature film from Fox Film, six years before the Chaney version! Likely that is because this is a "lost" film (there is no surviving example of it). Even movie fans familiar with Theda Bara's big hits like Cleopatra and Salome probably don't know of this movie! Movie memorabilia of any sort from this movie is beyond rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that first release 1917 movie memorabilia of any kind from this movie is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned even a single movie memorabilia from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good to fine.
