An Original Vintage Comic Book (measures 6 3/4" x 10 1/4" [17 x 26 cm]) (Learn More) X-Men (also known as The Uncanny X-Men) is the comic book superhero team created by Stan Lee & Jack Kirby in 1963 for Marvel Comics. The first members of the X-Men (who were teenage "mutants", brought together by an older professor) were Dr. Xavier (Professor X), The Cyclops, The Beast, Angel, Marvel Girl, and Iceman. In 1975, Len Wein and David Cockrum started an all new X-Men, with entirely different characters (except for Cyclops), and the most popular was Wolverine, who became a solo hero as well, and that led to renewed success for the superhero team. The X-Men franchise has spread to almost all forms of media including books, television shows, and several films.
