A Folded Special Poster (measures 17 3/4" x 22" [45 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) Mr. America Miss Americana, the 1971 poster ("First time in Hollywood"; "Famous Hair Aquarius Theater"; "1971 IFBB") promoting the competition for Mr. America, Miss Americana, and Mr. Western America which was held on August 28th, 1971 at the Hair Aquarius Theater in Hollywood, California. The competition included Arnold Schwarzenegger ("Mr. Olympia will appear"), Frank Zane ("Mr. America will appear"), Franco Columbo, the "world's most beautiful women", and many more. Of course, at this time, Arnold Schwarzenegger was pretty unknown outside of the body building circuit, where he was being heavily promoted by Joe Weider (billed on the poster for his "Weider Barbell Co."). One year before this Arnold had starred in "Hercules in New York", a movie that came and went quickly. However, five years after this event, Arnold would have a role in "Stay Hungry", and the following year become a star after the movie "Pumping Iron" became a major hit, and to everyone's surprise (except himself), he became one of the most successful movie stars in the world! Posters from any of his body building appearances are extremely rare! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: very good. The poster was folded once in each direction and there are some tiny tears and tiny paper loss on the horizontal fold with some slight darkening in parts of the borders, with a few tiny tears.
