It's a spectacle light years ahead of its time from 20th Century Fox."; "Written and Directed by George Lucas"; nominated for the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Mark Hamill (as Luke Skywalker), Harrison Ford (as Han Solo), Carrie Fisher (as Princess Leia), Peter Cushing (as Grand Moff Tarkin), Alec Guinness (nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Academy Award for this film; as Obi-Wan Kenobi), Anthony Daniels (as C-3PO), James Earl Jones (as the voice of Darth Vader), David Prowse (billed as "Dave Prowse"; as the man inside the Darth Vader suit!), Peter Mayhew (as Chewbacca), Kenny Baker (as R2-D2), and Phil Brown (as Uncle Owen)

Important Added Info: Note that the last example of this poster that we auctioned sold for $1,550! It appears that when 20th Century Fox created 30" x 40" posters for Star Wars, they wanted to economize, and so they simply used the exact same one-sheet printing plate, which included the words "ONE SHEET - STYLE 'A'" at bottom right, and the NSS number "77/21" to the right of that, and the words "STAR WARS" below the NSS number. But that printing plate was designed for a 27" x 41" poster, and so when it was used on this 30" x 40" poster, the words "STAR WARS" at bottom right, and the tiny NSS information at bottom center were either completely cut off, or partially cut off, depending on how the image was centered on the available space (we have seen several different variations of this, and they all vary as to whether there is any of that writing at bottom, and how much there is). There are also examples of this poster that do not have this oddity, because they don't have "ONE SHEET - STYLE A" printed in the bottom right, so maybe someone noticed this and created ones without the incorrect size. It is clear that there were several different print runs of this poster (not at all surprising given how incredibly popular the movie was!), and all are considered to be from the first release, because no one knows which, if any, came first.

Condition: good to very good. The poster was rolled opposite from how 30x40s are normally rolled. While it was rolled t was roughly handled and it acquired a partial vertical fold down the center and much lighter vertical folds down the middle of the left half and the right half. The partial vertical fold it somewhat noticeable. Otherwise the poster has a few creases around the edges. Please bear the above odd defects in mind before bidding on this poster.
