Hashimura Togo, the 1917 William C. de Mille romantic love triangle melodrama (about a Japanese diplomat who accepts disgrace that his brother committed, and he leaves Japan and goes to the U.S., where he works as a butler for a formerly rich family; the daughter is being pressured to marry a rich man when she loves someone else, and the butler is able to solve her problems, which allows him to return to Japan and marry his own sweetheart) starring Sessue Hayakawa (in the title role; he played many Asian villains in silent movies, and decades later triumphantly returned to the screen in "The Bridge Over the River Kwai"), Florence Vidor, Mabel Van Buren, Walter Long, and Tom Forman

Important Added Info: Note that this is a very rare poster - we have only auctioned one in all of our years of auctioning (in 2010) and now that very same poster has been reconsigned to us for this auction! Note also that this is a hand-colored half-sheet. In the days of silent movies prior to the invention of good quality full-color printing, studios would have posters printed in black and white and then amazingly would hire women to hand-color the posters one at a time (apparently labor was very cheap at the time)! So, each poster is colored slightly differently, and the coloring is never a perfect match.

Condition: good to very good. The poster has some paper loss in a few portions of the blank borders and some slight discoloration in the lower edge (see our image). The image has a few light scuffs but is otherwise, generally, in pretty nice condition.
