He was 37 when he made his first real movie, after having been a Marine in World War II. It was 1948, and Monogram Pictures had been looking for a replacement for Buck Jones, who had died in 1942, and Wilson bore a resemblance to Jones, and Monogram signed him to a contract without his having any experience. They gave him a whip like Lash La Rue, so he could have a cool name and a trademark, and he was very successful over the next five years, but in 1953, he basically retired and managed an apartment complex, passing away in 1964 at the age of 53. Note that the items in this lot are mostly from the 1940s. We do not provide a list of these items, but there are images of all of them. Condition: good to very good. Some of the lobby cards are in "good" condition, some in "good to very good", and some "very good". Learn More about condition grades Titles included:
