The Perils of Pauline, the classic 1914 Louis J. Gasnier & Donald MacKenzie adventure serial ("The Pathe Players in the great serial photoplay") starring Pearl White (in the title role as Pauline), Crane Wilbur, and Paul Panzer. Note that Pearl White is of course the most famous female silent serial star, but after many injuries from her roles, she decided that she wanted to quit serials, and she turned to "serious acting", but she became addicted to painkillers, and she retired in 1924 and passed away in 1938, when she was just 49.
