An Autographed 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" Cut Album Page (Learn More) Madeleine Carroll was an English actress from the 1920s to the 1950s. She was a beautiful, classy blonde, just the type that Alfred Hitchcock would want for all of his later movies, and it is not surprising that she had starring roles in two classic Alfred Hitchcock movies: "The 39 Steps" and "Secret Agent". In 1935, Alexander Korda sold her contract to Paramount, and they put her in a series of movies, billing her as "the most beautiful woman in the world". Some of her other movies include: The Prisoner of Zenda, North West Mounted Police, and My Favorite Blonde. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by Madeleine Carroll. It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display! Note that this item has been trimmed and it now measures 1 1/2" x 3 1/2" [4 x 9 cm]. This autograph (and others from this same collection we are offering in separate auctions) comes from the estate of Dorothy Credille, who was a Hollywood publicist in the 1930s to the 1950s. During the course of her work, she became personal friends and an acquaintance of all the top Hollywood stars, and she collected many autographs in an autograph book (as well as some signed 8x10s and 11x14s). Someone took the autograph book and cut out the individual autographs, and this is one of those autographs from that book. We feel certain that it is authentic. Condition: good to very good.
