Artist: Jack Davis Important Added Info: Note that this poster is the style A British quad for this classic movie. The style B has different art of the cast coming out of the Earth. But there is an oddity about this poster. All the previous style A quads we have seen have the title with a red box around it and all the style B quads have the title with no box. But this poster has no red box, like the style B, but it has the style A image! This might be because the title is in "day-glo", so maybe this is a special "day-glo style A", which has not surfaced before. We feel certain it is an original poster from 1964. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Note that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 28 1/2" x 38 1/2" [72 x 98 cm]. What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at some crossfolds, with some slight darkening on parts of a few folds. It had tears and darkening in the right blank border and a lesser amount in the other borders. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
