An Original Vintage Folded Russian Circus Poster (measures 24" x 36 1/2" [61 x 93 cm]) (Learn More) Evgeny Eduardovich Rogalsky was a Russian circus artist, equestrian acrobat and animal trainer from the 1920s (at the age of 4) to the 1990s. He often performed with his wife, Engelina Rogalskaya. In 1980, he was awarded the People's Artist of the RSFSR title. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this poster! Note that the poster has an artist's signature on it, but we cannot read it. If anyone knows the name of this artist, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this poster is one of a collection of 36 similar posters that we were consigned (and are currently auctioning in 36 separate auctions). They include Russian, Uzbek, Ukranian, and Latvian posters, and some of them are movie posters, and others are circus posters, with a few other kinds of posters. All of these posters are incredibly rare, and on the vast majority of them, we have never auctioned them before, and it may be many years before we auction any of them again. This is a rare opportunity to purchase one or more of these posters, all of which have very striking images! Condition: very good. The poster had some tears in the left and right borders, and someone put small pieces of tape on the back of those. It had a partial extra horizontal fold just above the regular one, with some smudges near the center and a tiny tear and tiny paper loss in the "O" at upper center. Learn More about condition grades
