A Vintage Autographed Hardcover Book (measures 7" x 9 1/4" [18 x 23 cm]; 288 pages) (Learn More) The Tin Woodman of Oz: A Faithful Story of the Astonishing Adventure Undertaken by the Tin Woodman, Assisted by Woot the Wanderer, the Scarecrow of Oz, and Polychrome, the Rainbow's Daughter is the twelfth Land of Oz book written by L. Frank Baum and was originally published on May 13, 1918. The Tin Woodman is reunited with his Munchkin sweetheart Nimmie Amee from the days when he was flesh and blood. This was a back-story from Baum's 1900 novel, The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, in which we learn that the formerly human Woodsman was forced to chop off his own body parts with his axe by the Wicked Witch. Important Added Info: Note that this book has been personally autographed (signed) by SEVEN people: Judy Garland, Frank Morgan, Ray Bolger, Bert Lahr, Margaret Hamilton, Billie Burke, AND Jack Haley! Of course, these are seven people super closely connected to the all-time classic 1939 movie "The Wizard of Oz", and it seems likely that these autographs surely were obtained after that movie was released, but we don't know exactly when, and the history of how and when these autographs were obtained is not known (although a number of them are personalized to either "William" or "Bill", so surely it was one person who acquired them. Our consignor is a longtime collector who purchased this signed item from a reputable dealer. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, and while we believe the signatures to surely be authentic, we urge all bidders to do whatever authenticating they want to do, prior to bidding on this book! Also note that we have pictured the front cover, the title page, and the interior page that shows the publishing information, and one or more interior 2-page spreads. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased (although we prefer they do any "authenticating" while the auction is "live" and before they place a bid) and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes. Condition: very good. The book has some pretty minor wear. Please see our many images to get a good sense of the condition of this rare book. Learn More about condition grades
