Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

Maciste Against The Kidnappers, the circa late 1910s silent romantic detective melodrama ("A sensational detective story in 10 parts"; presented by Duilio Marazzi) starring Bartolomeo Pagano. Note that an advanced collector suggests that this may be a U.S. release of the film "The Liberator", which was distributed via the State's Rights System by Harry Raver. The Liberator was a serial that was filmed in Italy during World War I and many of the actors were soldiers who were on leave from the front lines. However, even this information does not reveal which of the 25 Bartolomeo Pagano Maciste films this is. If anyone knows more about this movie or poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster is linenbacked; prior to restoration the poster had creases on some foldlines and small paper loss at the crossfolds; there were many small tears, creases, smudges, and small areas of paper loss around the edges of the poster; the poster was well linenbacked [much of the borders were either painted or had new paper placed over them (the border restoration was expert, and I think most people would not realize it had been done if it were not pointed out to them)] and the minor flaws in the image area were minimized during the backing process, but they can still be seen from close up; Overall, the image area of the poster was in pretty nice condition prior to backing and the entire poster looks nice now!
