An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More)

A Roman Scandal, the 1926 Bud Fisher & Charles R. Bowers Ancient Rome Italy silent animated cartoon chariot race sports comedy short ("New Series"; obviously a comic parody of Ben-Hur, which had been released the year before, and also contained a chariot race as its centerpiece; based on the popular comic strip by Bud Fisher, with writing, direction, and animation by Bud Fisher himself, with the help of Charles Bowers on the direction and the help of Edgar Horace on the animation) featuring Mutt and Jeff. Note that Mutt and Jeff (a pair of loser best friends, one tall and one short) was one of the most popular newspaper cartoon strips ever, beginning in 1908, and they were brought to the movies in 1911, and over the next 15 years, Bud Fisher created an astonishing 347 cartoons starring the duo. This cartoon was the second to last one ever made. Note that Bud Fisher was one of the rare successful creators who was also an excellent business man, and he gained control of the newspaper strip, and when the first cartoons were adapted in 1911, he retained sole ownership of those as well, and his various enterprises made him an extremely wealthy man!
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.

Condition: very good. The poster had tiny paper loss at the crossfolds and some small tears scattered down the vertical foldline and a lesser number in the horizontal foldlines. The poster once had tape repairs on the back of parts of the foldlines. Overall, the poster was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was quite nicely backed, and displays well!
