McLaglen oil well firefighter fireman rescue melodrama (loosely based on the life of oil field firefighter Red Adair, who became even more famous in the early 1990s for helping put out the massive oil well fires in Kuwait at the end of the first Gulf War!) starring John Wayne (as Red Adair; "The toughest Hellfighter of all!"), Katharine Ross (billed as "That 'Graduate' Girl"), Jim Hutton, Jay C. Flippen, Bruce Cabot, and Vera Miles ("as Madelyn")
