Berni Wrightson (also known as "Bernie Wrightson") was a horror fantasy and comic book artist from the 1970s to the 2010s. His works were featured in DC and Marvel comics, Swamp Thing, art prints, and several illustrations for Stephen King. In 1972 he created "Badtime Stories" a high-quality "prozine" which was a tribute to EC horror comics of the 1950s, with all stories written and illustrated by Wrightson. In 1978 and 1980 illustrated portfolios of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein, which most fans consider his finest work ever, and which show how strongly he was influenced by the best EC artists! He passed away in 2017 at the age of 68.
