An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park (released in Italy as "Kiss Phantoms"), the 1978 Gordon Hessler made-for-TV rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music horror science fiction (sci-fi) fantasy thriller ("KISSterical! KISStounding! KISStoric!"; "Their first full length feature film will zap you out of your seat!"; produced by Hanna-Barbera) starring KISS (Peter Criss, Ace Frehley, Gene Simmons, and Paul Stanley), Anthony Zerbe, Deborah Ryan, and Carmine Caridi. Note that this was a TV movie shown in the fall of 1978. The response to it was so wonderful that it was then given a theatrical release under the new title of "Attack of the Phantoms". It seems likely that two songs were added to the movie at this time, because several one-sheets have a studio-issued snipe that tells of the two added songs (likely to attract KISS fans who had already seen the TV movie, but would want to see the added songs). Also note that there are two different styles of one-sheets, both of which have rating boxes at the center (one has a light blue background and the other has a red flames background). Important Added Info: Note that we have only auctioned four examples of this poster (with the blue background) and the last example that we auctioned (five years ago) sold for $825! Condition: fair to good. The poster is in lesser condition. It has heavy tape staining around the edges (some areas have become slightly translucent) and area of fold and fold edges separation. There are many pinholes around the edges and there are tint, fine and light creases scattered throughout. Many of the tears or other defects as described above have been repaired with several different pieces of tape from the back. There are a few tiny stains scattered in the poster (mostly at the center crossfold and at upper right). There is pen writing at lower left. The very rare poster is in need of restoration. Certainly a top restorer can repair the defects described above, and after, the poster will display really well, but please bear in mind the poster's many defects and the cost of restoration before placing a bid.
