This means the poster has a significantly lesser number of folds than with subway posters folded in the "regular" way, which is nice! Tri-folded subway posters need to be sent in an oversized flat package, which measures roughly 13" x 30", so they cost more to send than regularly folded subway posters, especially if they are sent to non-U.S. addresses.
