An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Betsy's Burglar, the 1917 Paul Powell silent romantic crime comedy (about a poor girl who works as a maid in a boardinghouse, and she dreams of being a detective, and a man moves in who tells her that that people across the hall have his stolen family jewels, and he enlists her help in recovering them, which results in her being kidnapped, but everything works out in the end, and the two are married) starring Constance Talmadge (in the title role as Betsy), Kenneth Harlan, Monte Blue, Joseph Singleton, and Josephine Crowell NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had a large number of creases and scuffs scattered down the right 8", and many in the lower left of the image. There was small paper loss and some tears across the bottom foldline and areas of paper loss in the bottom right credits area. There were areas of paper loss scattered down the right blank border and a lesser amount in the other borders. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did not do restoration to the defects described above, except for the paper loss in the blank borders and in the bottom right credits area.
