Note that there is an unusual element to this movie, which is that Elia Kazan had Warner Bros. buy the rights to this classic novel, and then he essentially junked around 90% of it, focusing on a small section of the book! Important Added Info: Note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good to very good. The card had pinholes, smudges, and faint stains around the edges. The borders of the card were folded back vertically at the left and right edges of the image. Overall, the card was in good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. Given the card's defects described above, the restorer did a pretty good job, but you can see signs of the defects and the restoration (and parts of the white background areas were painted over to "even them out"), but the card displays pretty well (see our super-sized images to get a good sense of exactly how the card looks now).
