Some of his movies include: Star Wars (as Grand Moff Tarkin), The Hound of the Baskervilles (as Sherlock Holmes), The Curse of Frankenstein, Dracula (as Professor Van Helsing), and many other Hammer horror movies! He passed away in 1994 at the age of 81. Important Added Info: Note that this letter has been personally autographed (signed) by Peter Cushing! Normally, one might wonder if the letter was signed by a secretary, but in this case, it would seem that there is absolutely no chance that could be, because Mr. Cushing first had his secretary send a card that had a note at the bottom reading "LETTER WILL FOLLOW - JB (SECRETARY)", and then the promised letter was sent and signed by Mr. Cushing. Why in the world would Mr. Cushing have his secretary say a letter will follow, if the letter was just going to be written by the secretary? So we think this letter is surely by Mr. Cushing himself, and it comes with the envelope and the card that were mailed to the fan (see our images). Our consignor is a longtime dealer who acquired this signed item among many other purchases in his inventory, and he does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.
