eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result d273 HIT & RUN half-sheet movie poster '57 bad pick-up girl Cleo Moore! Date Sold 8/7/2007Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 22" x 28") (Learn More) Hit and Run, the 1957 Hugo Haas romantic love triangle bad girl crime film noir ("'I can't give you anything but love- and murder, baby!'"; "Two imperfect people plan the perfect crime... Can they get away with it?"; "Kiss-and-go girl..."; "hungry-for-love husband"; "Pay-up Sucker"; "Pick-up girl.."; "Hush-up lover.."; "it's got to explode into... Hit and Run"; "Blonde... Husband... Other man... Under the same roof - and someone's going to die for love!") starring Cleo Moore, Hugo Haas (who wrote, produced, directed, and starred in this film!), Vince Edwards, Dolores Reed, and Mara Lea. Note that star/director Hugo Haas was a native of Czechoslovakia, and in 1937, he wrote the screenplay for a movie, "Skeleton on Horseback", based on a play by Karel Capek (best remembered as the author of "R.U.R.", the first literary mention of robots), and that movie was obviously intended as an allegory against Hitler and fascism. When Hitler invaded Czechoslovakia right after the movie was made, Haas fled to the United States, but he never achieved major prominence in movies, although he is well remembered for directing a series of movies about an old man in love with a young beautiful woman (starring Haas himself, with a series of "bad girls", including Cleo Moore)! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster was machine folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time. If being stored flat has caused the folds to diminish, then this poster will be sent rolled in a tube. But if being stored flat has NOT caused the folds to diminish at all, then we will re-fold the poster, and mail it in a flat package. Please be assured that we are solely looking to pack these posters in the safest possible way! If you purchase both unfolded posters and posters that CAN be re-folded, we will rule them all together into a single tube. Condition: very good. Note that the poster has a very minor printing defect, which is a series of faint light blue lines down the left edge of the left blank border. This was a very minor printing defect that occurred during the printing of these half-sheets, and it is found on many 1950s and early 1960s half-sheets, and few collectors consider it much of a defect at all, because it is in the left edge of the blank border, has no effect on the image, and would likely be on all examples of this half-sheet. NOTE THAT, OTHER THAN THE ABOVE, THIS HALF-SHEET IS IN REALLY NICE CONDITION! Learn More about condition grades
