Love Letters, the 1945 William Dieterle romantic crime mystery thriller ("Screen Play by Ayn Rand", author of "The Fountainhead"; from the novel by Chris Massie; produced by Hal Wallis) starring Jennifer Jones (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Joseph Cotten, Ann Richards, Cecil Kellaway, Gladys Cooper, Anita Louise, and Robert Sully

Artist: Aristide (Aris) Bacci
Important Added Info: Note that offered here is the actual original artwork painted by Aristide (Aris) Bacci for the U.S. poster campaign for this Jennifer Jones movie, and we don't know if it was ultimately used on any posters (or possibly in the program book or other promotional material). Note that Bacci was Italian, but moved to France and worked for The New York Times as a war correspondent during World War I. But he continued his art career, and became a "Futurist" in the 1920s. In the early 1930s, he moved to the U.S. and did magazine illustrations, and also worked for Hollywood studios doing concept art and preliminary sketches for posters. Sadly, he died in 1948, when he was just 54. This is the only original art by this artist we have ever auctioned, and we have never before auctioned a movie poster that has his art. Finally, note that this original art is on lightweight poster board, and that it was placed in a mat with clear plastic over it. The art is attached to the back mat with hinges, so it can be easily removed (as we did for our picture). But in the mat or outside the mat, it can't possibly be rolled, and must be sent in a large flat package.

Condition: very good to fine. The original art is in nice condition!
