An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Chapter #1 ("The Fiery Circle") One-Sheet Movie Poster (measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) The Three Musketeers, the 1933 Colbert Clark & Armand Schaefer Foreign Legion military action adventure serial ("A Modern Version"; "A Smashing Serial In 12 Thrilling Chapters"; loosely based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas) starring John Wayne, Ruth Hall, Jack Mulhall, Raymond Hatton, Ralph Bushman (billed as "Francis X. Bushman Jr."), Noah Beery Jr., Lon Chaney Jr. (billed under his given name of "Creighton Chaney"), and Robert Warwick. Note that this is a then-modern day version of the Dumas classic, with Mulhall, Hatton, and Bushman as the modern day Three Musketeers and John Wayne as the modern day D'Artagnan. Important Added Info: Note that this is the extremely rare ORIGINAL release Chapter 1 one-sheet! In the late 1930s, Nat Levine re-released this serial, and a two-color version of this poster was printed. But because that two-color poster is undated, it has often been mistakenly sold as a 1933 poster, but it is actually a late 1930s re-release. This original full-color version is virtually never offered for sale! Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded oddly, with two evenly spaced vertical folds, and three evenly spaced horizontal folds (this was not unusual for serial posters at this time). There was small paper loss at both middle crossfolds, and some creases and fine surface paper loss on parts of some foldlines. There were many creases and smudges across the top 8" and the bottom 2" of the poster and some small tears and tiny areas of paper loss in the borders. Overall, the poster had many minor defects, but there are few that are in the artwork, and it was in very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was mounted on to a very thin linen, with no excess, and it was not a very good job. If I owned this great poster, I would surely immediately have it properly re-backed by a talented professional. After proper restoration (which will not require much paint at all in the image area), the poster will look fantastic! Learn More about condition grades
