Date Sold 2/23/2017Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Italian Six-Panel Movie Poster (6p; measures 78" x 162" [198 x 411 cm]) (Learn More) Biya el-Khawatim (released in English-speaking countries as "Auliban, the Seller of Jokes"), the 1965 Youssef Chahine Lebanese musical comedy (about the mayor of a very peaceful town who sees that the townspeople are bored, so he invents a fearful thief who comes to town during the night, killing and maiming people, and then two thieves see this as their chance, and they pretend to be the fictional thief, making him real life!) starring Fairuz (billed as "Fairouz"), Nasri Shamseddine, Joseph Azar, Phelemone Wehbe, and Joseph Nassif Artist: Manfredo Acerbo Important Added Info: Note that we have been told that at this time in Egypt the movie distributors would print Egyptian one-sheets (similar in size to U.S. one-sheets). But apparently, they lacked the capability of printing larger posters, so they hired Italian printers to create them, and they printed posters that are just like Italian six-panels (in size and in paper type), but they have Egyptian writing on them. So we are calling them "Egyptian/Italian 6p" because we believe they were printed in Italy, but were used in Egypt. If anyone knows more about these posters, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that this Italian six-panel was printed in 6 sections designed to overlap. Condition: good to very good.
