An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Italian One-Panel (known in Italy as a "2 Fogli") Movie Poster (1p; measures 39" x 55" [99 x 140 cm]) (Learn More) Anna Karenina, the 1948 Julien Duvivier English Russia romantic adultery melodrama (produced by Alexander Korda; based on the novel by Leo Tolstoy) starring Vivien Leigh (in the title role as Anna Karenina), Ralph Richardson (as Alexei Karenin), Kieron Moore (as Count Vronsky), Sally Ann Howes ("by permission of the J. Arthur Rank Organisation"), and Niall MacGinnis. Note that there was an earlier version of this movie under the same name in 1935 starring Greta Garbo and Fredric March (and Garbo had previously played this same role in a silent version in 1927 re-titled "Love", and there had been eight earlier silent versions between 1910 and 1919!). Apparently, there were still major paper shortages in Italy, and few posters were printed, and most were recycled. The poster had tiny paper loss and tiny tears on parts of some folds, with a few tears and some tiny paper loss that were not in the folds. It had some pinholes around the edges.
