An Original Vintage Theatrical Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 13 3/4" x 17") (Learn More)

Calling Dr. Gillespie, the 1942 Harold S. Bucquet hospital medical doctor crime murder mystery thriller ("A NEW chapter in America's best-loved series!") starring Lionel Barrymore (in the title role as Dr. Leonard Gillespie), Philip Dorn, Donna Reed, Phil Brown, Nat Pendleton, Alma Kruger, and Mary Nash. Note that the Dr. Kildare movies were made between 1938 and 1947, but that Lew Ayres left the series in 1942, and six more films were made WITHOUT Dr. Kildare, but WITH Dr. Gillespie (played as always by Lionel Barrymore), who became top billed in those six movies, and of course, they could not be official "Dr. Kildare movies", because the lead character was no longer at the hospital.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this window card has been trimmed and now measures 13 3/4" x 17". The window card originally had a blank top that was neatly trimmed off (this was commonly done with window cards, when the top had been left blank, or when someone had hand-scrawled play date information in that area). Most collectors do not consider it to be a significant defect at all, since only blank white paper is lost, and the window card becomes easier to frame.

Condition: good. Note that the card measures very slightly under 14" wide and has no bottom blank border, but it has NOT been trimmed (this was done at a time when MGM was experimenting with having as few borders as possible).
