An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Belgian Movie Poster (measures 23 1/2" x 33 1/2" [60 x 85 cm]) (Learn More)

Vers L'abime (literally translates to "Towards the Abyss"), the 1934 Hans Steinhoff & Serge Veber German/French romantic melodrama starring Brigette Helm, Raymond Rouleau, Francoise Rosay, Henry Roussel, and Roger Duchesne. It appears this movie was never released in the U.S. We were unable to find out information about the plot of this movie, which is unfortunate, because the only poster we have seen from it has a really cool image of Brigitte Helm looming over six men in tuxedos, who are likely all vying for her. If anyone knows more about this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Of course, Brigitte Helm is best remembered for playing the starring role of Maria in Fritz Lang's "Metropolis", and any first release posters from her movies are extremely rare!

Important Added Info: Note that this is a rare "pre-War" Belgian poster. Prior to World War II, Belgian posters were much larger than the ones from after the war, and they are extremely rare (because during WWII, there was a massive paper shortage in Belgium, and they took virtually every poster and map, and printed new posters on the backs of them. Note also that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube.

Condition: very good. The poster was never folded. It had the tiniest of paper loss at the top and bottom crossfolds and pinholes around the edges, with minor fold wear.
