(Learn More) Walt Disney's Cinderella, the classic 1950 Clyde Geronimi & Wilfred Jackson Walt Disney animated animation family romantic musical fairy tale fantasy cartoon ("Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo! It's Magic!"; "It's Fun!"; "Greatest since 'Snow White'"; "A love story with music"; "For All the World to Love!"; "The world's best-loved story... spun of dreams and laughter and love... woven into the wondrous picture only Walt Disney could create!"; based on the story by Charles Perrault) featuring the voices of Ilene Woods (in the title role as Cinderella), Eleanor Audley, Verna Felton, Claire Du Brey, James MacDonald, Louis Van Rooten, and Don Barclay NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned three examples of this first release pressbook (which was in two sections, "Campaign Book A" and "Campaign Book B"; see below, and one of those three was only one of the two sections)! This pressbook also includes a great full-color supplement that measures 10 1/2" x 14" and has 8 pages, and we have never auctioned that before! Also note that Walt Disney did something very unusual with this pressbook. Normally, there is the regular pressbook and the studio creates one or more supplements. But in this case, they labeled the main pressbook as "campaign book - A" and the supplement as "campaign book - B". We have no idea why they did that, but this auction is for both campaign book A and campaign book B from the very first release of this movie in 1950, and they are both quite rare! Note that pressbooks were prepared prior to a movie being released. Often, changes would be made in a movie advertising campaign (billing of actors, different images, etc.), and the theaters would print up special supplements that they would send out with the pressbooks that had already been printed. These supplements are very rare, far more rare than the pressbooks themselves! Some pressbooks would have no supplements, some would have one, and some would have several. Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners received pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Note: We have 13 images of the pressbook and the other included items, but due to a space limitation, only TEN of the 13 images are displayed above. However, there is a "supersize" link to the right of those images that lets you see the other 3. Condition: very good, NO CUTS. Both sections of the pressbook and the supplement are complete and uncut. The campaign book A has creases around the edges and some slight uneven darkening. Campaign book B is in really nice condition. The supplement is in really nice condition and was folded across the middle at one time. Learn More about condition grades
