An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More)

The Fighting Marine, the 1926 Spencer Gordon Bennet silent U.S. Marines military action adventure serial starring Gene Tunney ("The world's new heavyweight champion"; the real life heavyweight boxing champion of the world!), Marjorie Day, Jack Anthony, Walter Miller, and Virginia Vance. Note that many boxing champions have turned to movies (either while they were champ or after) as a way to "cash in" on their fame, but Gene Tunney (who was champion at the time this movie was filmed) obviously wisely realized that this was not for him, and never appeared in another movie. Also, like many serials, a feature version was edited from the 10 chapters and released to theaters separately. Finally, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.
NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography.
Important Added Info: Note that we have previously auctioned a number of lobby cards from the serial version of this movie, but this is the very first lobby card (or anything!) from the feature version of this serial. We know this is from the feature version, because it has "Pathepicture", while the paper from the serial version says "Patheserial". Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has.

Condition: very good. There is a 1" tear in the left of the top border, and someone wrote "6" in the top right corner in pencil. Otherwise, the card is in nice condition. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back!
