Service's The Trail of '98, the 1928 Clarence Brown Alaskan Gold Rush gambling romantic love triangle melodrama ("Two years in production! 15,000 people in the cast!"; "From Story by Robert W. Service"; "The call of the Klondike"; about a prospector who strikes it rich, but when he returns to his lost love, he discovers she has become a "dance hall girl" at a gambling saloon, and she is involved with a murderer, and the prospector tries to rescue her, with tragic results) starring Dolores Del Rio, Ralph Forbes, Karl Dane, Harry Carey Sr., Tully Marshall, and Tenen Holtz NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that the back cover of this herald has a wonderful image of poker player Harry Carey dragging in a large pot while flashing his winning hand and smoking a big cigar! Please note that Uruguayan heralds, like Spanish heralds, were printed in large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Uruguay, and they would have the backs of them overprinted or stamped with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Uruguay for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Uruguay). We strongly suspect that most movies did not reach Uruguay until a year or two after their first release in other countries, but we can't say for certain. Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald (or the date of the movie's first release in Uruguay) unless we know from some other source that the later year was when the movie first played in Uruguay. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the same date as when the movie first played in its country of origin, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it.
