An Original Vintage Linenbacked Spanish Bullfight Poster (measures 21 1/2" x 42" [55 x 107 cm]) (Learn More)

Plaza de Toros de Barcelona, the 1957 Spanish bullfighting matador toreador poster advertising a fight on Sunday May 26th 1957 at 5:15 p.m. featuring Joaquin Bernado, Gregorio Sanchez, Curro Giron, and "La Popular Sansense" (a band who was set to perform during the bullfights). Note that the poster features great artwork of a matador stabbing a bull in the arena by J. Reus. If anyone knows more about this poster, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
Artist: J. Reus

Condition: good to very good. The poster was folded once vertically and three times horizontally, and there were creases, scuffs, tiny tears, and tiny bits of paper loss on the foldlines. There was 6" of separation in the top of the vertical foldline and someone once put a piece of tape on the back of it, which bled through to the front, and there were also tape stains in each corner. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above.
