An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Nation Aflame, the 1937 Victor Halperin crime thriller ("A dynamic expose of a hooded menace!"; "From the Flaming Pen of Thomas Dixon Author of 'The Birth of a Nation' in collaboration with Oliver Drake"; similar to "The Black Legion", about the breaking up of a KKK-like group called "The Avenging Angels") starring Noel Madison, Lila Lee, Norma Trelvar, Douglas Walton, Harry Holman, and "a cast of thousands". Note that this movie was based on a novel by the author of "The Birth of a Nation", a book which glorified the KKK. It seems likely this book was written as a sort of apology for his earlier novel! Important Added Info: Note that we have only previously auctioned one example of this one-sheet and that was 3 years ago. The buyer of that poster has now reconsigned it to us, so this is still the only example of this poster we have ever auctioned! What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the bottom two crossfolds and some fine surface paper loss on the top fold and some tiny tears and tiny bits of paper loss on parts of the other folds. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects.
