An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41") (Learn More) Captain Eddie, the 1945 Lloyd Bacon World War I (WWI) military airplane aviation pilot biography melodrama ("The greatest thrill drama of the year!"; "So incredibly thrilling... So amazingly true!"; a semi-factual biography of famed World War I aviator Eddie Rickenbaker, who had the most "kills" of any U.S. pilot in World War I) starring Fred MacMurray (in the title role as Eddie Rickenbaker), Lynn Bari, Charles Bickford, Thomas Mitchell, Lloyd Nolan, James Gleason, Mary Philips, Darryl Hickman, Spring Byington, Richard Conte, Charles Russell, Richard Crane, Stanley Ridges, and Clem Bevans. Note that Eddie Rickenbacker was a fascinating American hero, because after World War I, he refused to participate in any movies, but he started the Rickenbacker Motor Company in 1920, making better cars than were available at the time. But the company failed, and he went bankrupt in 1927. But he immediately bought the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and he made it into a huge success. He later had much involvement with Eastern Airlines, and in 1941, he survived a plane crash that landed on the ground, and the following year, he was in a plane crash at sea, and he was on a life raft for 21 days before he was rescued. This is just a tiny bit of his amazing biography! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Condition: good to very good. The poster had small paper loss at the crossfolds and some creases, smudges, and small horizontal tears scattered down the vertical foldline. There were pinholes around the edges of the poster with extra pinholes in the top center of the poster. There was a 3" tear near the middle of the right border and areas of paper loss in the bottom blank border. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer linenbacked the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. Learn More about condition grades
